Bringing People Together

Homeschool Around the World

People from all walks of life and places can come together to learn different ways of educating. I would like to share the love and laughter of teaching through three different workbooks that we use.

The first one is a "Dear God" journal. They can write about what they want to God whether it be a feeling, question, story, verse, or prayer. The second workbook is called a "Science in the Field" journal. We take this with us on field trips. They draw a picture of whatever subject we are studying and then write their observations along with any questions they would like answered. This is a very visual learning technique, they have to write but are having the actual experience at the same time. The art part is the drive for the younger children.

The last workbook is a personal dictionary. It is a 1/2 inch, 3 ring binder that has pages of old and new vocabulary words that we may use on a field trip. We make a point to circle a few words, look up the meaning, and use the word at some point during our outing that relates to our activity. There you have it, three new and refreshing ideas to inspire your students into an enriching experience !

Welcome to Homeschool Around the World!

Welcome! A fresh new blog for a refreshing new homeschooling experience. It has been 2 years since I first started home educating my three children. I finally feel up to the challenge to officially say I am a blogger and can put my thoughts on a keyboard rather than paper.

This has been an amazing year, I hope to open a door to the miracles, joys, struggles, and adventures that homeschool families experience around the globe that seems so big but is really so small. A family in Africa seems so far away but really they are a neighbor at heart. The saying "what a small world" when you run into an old friend really does hold water in everyday living.

Being able to share with others an experience that relates to your own daily life reveals a connection "so close to home". So I welcome you to my homeschooling blog with my eyes wide open, ready to see the world in a whole new and inspiring light.
